After another bit of investigation and a careful study of the config.log, I
could install it by passing the variable PYTHON_EXTRA_LDFLAGS with the
correct location of the Python framework.
Ex. ./configure PYTHON_EXTRA_LDFLAGS=“-F/path/to/python/framework”
